The
Accelerated Reader Program is an incentive program to
encourage and reward "reading for pleasure", and to promote
a life-long love of reading. Students who read for
pleasure, read more often. This increases
their vocabulary, which helps them achieve a higher level
of understanding in what they read throughout all school
subject areas.
In
the Accelerated Reading Program, as students complete
a book, they can take a computerized quiz about the book.
By completing quizzes with a passing score, students earn
points.
Warren
Local elementary schools own several thousand AR quizzes
and the books which correspond, in a wide range of reading
levels and point values.
For
more information about the AR program please contact your
child's teacher or Sally Norton, Library/Technology Coordinator
for Warren Local Schools.
